Saudis 'Ready' To Make Big-Money Salah Move

Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad are reportedly open to making Mohamed Salah one of the highest-paid players in the world in an effort to land his signature.

One of the Saudi Pro League's biggest clubs is seemingly determined to secure Mohamed Salah's services, and have reportedly offered the attacker one of the biggest contract proposals in football history.

According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, Saudi giants Al Ittihad are looking to make an ambitious attempt to lure Egypt's all-time leading goalscorer to the Middle East.

There have been rumours in recent weeks that the Tigers are keen to bring in the 31-year-old, but the forward's agent has been unequivocal in their commitment to staying at Anfield.

However, the English broadcaster has now reported there is growing optimism within the Saudi club that a deal can be done in the final days of the transfer market.

When Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United, he left European football to become the first marquee signing of the Saudi Pro League when he signed the biggest contract ever, believed to be worth €200 million (R4 billion) a year.

Jacobs claims that the Saudi Pro League champions are now willing to offer the two-time CAF Men's Player of the Year a base annual salary of £65 million (R1.5 billion), and that they will pitch to him that he could end up earning close to or even more than the Portuguese icon when bonuses and other commercial opportunities are factored in too, should he agree to the switch.

Any move, however, is said to be contingent on Liverpool and whether or not they are willing to accept an offer from the Saudi Pro League champions, with reports in England suggesting that the Reds have no interest in entertaining any bids from the side for their talisman.
