It appears there may be no switching to Kaizer Chiefs or reuniting with Pitso Mosimane as Thulani Serero closes in on his next club.

There was hope that Serero, 33, would make a sensational return to the DStv Premiership after 13 years abroad, but it appears that it remains a pipe dream for local fans for now.

The veteran midfielder's future has been a topic of speculation following his exit from Al Jazira with murmurs that he could be joining Chiefs, while there was a possibility of linking up with Mosimane who recently made the switch to UAE's Al Wahda.

But reports coming from the UAE have suggested that the Soweto native is closing in on a move to Khorfakkan.

The club recently got their season underway with a 2-1 win over Hatta.

Coached by Abdulaziz Al Yassi, it is understood that talks between the club and Serero's camp is at an advanced stage and is expected to be concluded in the coming days as per UAE Sport News.

Serero's exit from Al Jazira came as somewhat of a shock considering that he had made 33 appearances in all competitions last season; however the club decided against renewing his contract when it expired in June this year.
