‘Ohh Mothiba!’ Bafana Striker Receives Hero’s Treatment

What's the story?

Lebo Mothiba got Strasbourg's season off to the perfect start after scoring the winner in a 2-1 Ligue 1 win over Olympique Lyon on Sunday night.

After the game, the 27-year-old was serenaded by Racing Strasbourg's lively supporters who came up with a special chant for their striker.

Strasbourg's hero: Lebo Mothiba

Mothiba sent the Stade de la Meinau jumping with a 75th-minute winner over Lyon on Sunday, to give his new head coach Patrick Viera the perfect start to the Ligue 1 season.

After the match, the jubilant Strasbourg faithful were in full song for the Bafana Bafana striker who is gunning for a spot in Hugo Broos' set-up for next year's AFCON.

The Le Racing fans were jumping up and down belting out Mothiba's chant that goes: 

"Oh Mothiba, Mothiba, He scores every night. Even for ultras, Who only think of drinking... Oh Mothiba..."

Mothiba has spent his entire professional career in France, coming up at Losc Lille before playing for Velenciennes FC, Troye and now Racing Strasbourg.

All these years in France, with a French partner as well, has given him enough time to be fluent in the language.
