The saga involving the forward and Les Parisiens has seemingly taken a new twist.
At the beginning of this transfer window, the superstar attacker informed PSG that he would not be signing an extension with them.
In light of the forward's sentiment, news then emerged suggesting that the Ligue 1 side would go as far as benching the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner for the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign if he does not leave the club in this window.
According to Le Parisien, the pacey winger is ready to test the club's resolve as far as this stance is concerned, with the French publication claiming that the Bondy native has informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he remains intent on seeing out the rest of his contract in the French capital.
The 24-year-old was left out of the team's pre-season tour of Asia, and could now miss the coming campaign altogether after his insistence that he will not be going anywhere during this window.
This decision could put Les Parisiens in a precarious position because they now risk not making any money on their €180 million (R3.7 billion) investment.
