FIFA has promised each player participating at the World Cup $30 000 (around R565 000), while the world governing body has also given SAFA $1.5 million (R30 million), which will be used for the team's travel and other costs they may incur in relation to the competition.
In addition to the R565 000 each player is set to receive, it's been confirmed that each person will receive R230 000, a contribution made to the association by the Motsepe Foundation. Each member of staff travelling with Banyana, most the technical team members, will receive R150 000.
In total, the Motsepe Foundation has contributed R6 million, ensuring that the team will be able to go to the World Cup without worrying too much about the financial side of things.
