A return to Cape Town City had been bandied about for the talented player but his chances of playing for the club were hampered by injury which derailed his progress.

With clubs preparing for the new season, Manyama has penned an emotional letter on his social media platforms confirming his decision to hang up his boots due to the persistent knee injury.

While playing for the Citizens, Manyama won the PSL's Footballer of the Season award in the 2016/2017 season.
