Result: Paris Saint-Germain 2-3 Clermont

Date: 03 June 2023

Venue: Parc des Princes

PSG manager Christopher Galtier handed starts Messi and Segio Ramos in their final games for the club, while Achraf Hakimi and Hugo Ekitike were also recalled to the starting line-up.

The Argentine once again received an icy reception from section of the home supporters when his name was read out before the clash.

The visitors had the ball in the back of the net after five minutes when  Grejohn Kyei finished off a well-worked move, but the goal was ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a handball.

The French champions went on to take the lead on 16 minutes when Ramos got on the end of Vitinha's cross to head home his second league goal of the season.

Three minutes later, the home side were awarded a penalty after Hakimi was brought down in the area, which allowed Kylian Mbappe to step up and slot home his 29th league goal from 12 yards out.

Clermont, however, did manage to pull a goal back in the 24th minute when Johan Gastien took advantage of a mix-up in the PSG defence to slot home from close range.

The visitors had a chance to get back on level terms with a penalty of their own eight minutes before the break after Warren Zaire Emery's handball, however Kyei was unable to hit the target from the spot.

However, Clermont did get the equaliser on the stroke of halftime when PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma spilled a cross into the path of Mehdi Zeffane, who reaced quicketst to slot home.

The away side carried that momentum into the second half and completed the turnaround just after the hour mark, as Kyei made up for his earlier miss by turning home Elbasan Rashani's cross.
