Cape Town City forward Khanyisa Mayo has revealed his "dream" of playing for Kaizer Chiefs and confirmed that he was approached by Amakhosi for his services in the January transfer window.
Mayo finished the 2022/23 DStv Premiership as a joint-top goal-scorer with Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile on 12 goals.

The 24-year old has been the subject of transfer speculation since the start of the season after he became a regular at the Citizens.
Mayo's link with Chiefs has been made more attractive by the fact that his father Patrick played for the Glamour Boys.
The left-footed striker says it is his "dream" to play for Chiefs as he grew up watching his father play "for the biggest club in the country".
"It's every player's dream growing up in South Africa wanting to play for a big club like Kaizer Chiefs, because we grew up watching our father (Patrick Mayo) playing for Kaizer Chiefs, so it would be any player's dream to play there," Mayo said in an interview on Radio 2000's Game On.
"It's the biggest club in South Africa currently, with the history and everything they have achieved and acquired," he said.
There were reports that Chiefs approached the Citizens for the services of Mayo in the January transfer window and the 24-year has confirmed that the Soweto giants did indeed approach City but the Mother City club were not willing to sell back then."Yes, there was interest in January but I'm still contracted to Cape Town City and I'll be contracted to Cape Town City until 2028, so I'm happy where I am right now," Mayo confirmed.
"The club is not willing to sell and I'm happy where I am. (With) me being at Cape Town City, I even got recognition from Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos.
"I'm thriving where I am and I'm enjoying the best football I ever played. We want to win trophies, we're a club that is ambitious and we want to compete among the best," he added.
Mayo signed a new contract at the Citizens, a week ago, which has been extended until 2028.
