A coach who has been constantly linked with Kaizer Chiefs was recently spotted in Mzansi and it has been revealed why.

In recent weeks, the future of Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has appeared to have been in doubt following another disappointing season by the club.

Amakhosi finished their campaign with 12 losses and in 5th place on the standings from their 30 matches and the club's supporters haven't been pleased with another season without a trophy.

While the club has remained committed to supporting Zwane and his technical team, the pressure has been mounting on management to make changes in preparation for the new season.

One of the coaches that have been linked with Chiefs in recent seasons is Algerian tactician Adel Amrouche who was recently spotted in the country amid speculation about possible changes at the club.

However, sources have confirmed to the Siya crew that Amrouche was not in the country for talks with Chiefs or any club but to watch Young Africans against Marumo Gallants in their second leg CAF Confederation Cup semi-final clash in his role as the national team coach of Tanzania.

"Yes, it's true that coach Adel Amrouche was recently in the country but it wasn't for meeting with any club or anyone from Mzansi. Yes, it was a football related visit but you know he is the national team coach of Tanzania, and that week a Tanzanian club Young Africans were in the country to play Marumo Gallants in the CAF Confederation Cup and that's why he was here. He came to watch the players from Tanzania as he might need to give call ups to some of them for their next match," said the source.

The source did, however, confirm that the 55-year-old does have an interest in coaching the Soweto giants if the job was to be made available.

"He is a top coach and is very ambitious. So, any ambitious coach would love to coach at the best clubs in the best leagues and he is no exception. The coach would love to coach in South Africa in one of the big clubs and Chiefs is a big club," added the source.
