OFFICIAL: African Star Ends Napoli's 33-Year Wait For Serie A Title

OFFICIAL: African Star Ends Napoli's 33-Year Wait For Serie A Title

Napoli have officially been crowned Serie A champions for the first time since 1990 on Thursday night.

Napoli could have wrapped up the title on Sunday against Salernitana in front of their own supporters, but the two sides played to a 1-1 draw,

However, Luciano Spalletti's men only needed a point against Udinese and that's exactly what they got at Udinese.

Udinese took the lead through Sandi Lovric's 13th minute strike, but the moment belonged to Napoli's top scorer Victor Osimhen, who grabbed the equaliser in the 50th minute.

The Naples outfit have now clinched the Serie A title with seven games to spare in the 2022/2023 campaign.

Osimhen has been the talisman for Napoli this season, with the Nigerian striker scoring 21 league goals in a single campaign, which more than any African player in Serie A history.
