Why Zwane Won't Stoop To Junior Khanye's Level

Why Zwane Won't Stoop To Junior Khanye's Level

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has reacted to comments made by former teammate Junior Khanye who has gone on the rampage all season long in criticism of the Soweto giants.

In a calm manner, Zwane hit back at Khanye, who has spent a big part of the season hammering Amakhosi on the iDiskitv YouTube channel.

In some of the recent comments, Khanye said Zwane failed tactically in a goalless draw against TS Galaxy, who played with 10 men after a red card was shown to Pogiso Sanoka, and further went on to say that the Amakhosi head coach was lucky in the 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates in the Soweto giants.

In his analysis of Amakhosi's 1-0 victory over Richards Bay, Khanye mentioned that he has a problem with Zwane's coaching, but the mentor said he does not want to stoop to the level of his former teammate.

"Critics are part of the game. It's his opinion (and) I respect his opinion. He is a former player. By the way, who am I to go down to the level of Junior Khanye? You understand what I am saying? This is football. I respect everyone," Zwane said after the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal draw in Randburg, Johannesburg, on Monday evening.

Amakhosi, meanwhile, were drawn against Royal AM in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.

"Interesting draw for us. Not an easy one, but you look at all the other seven teams, it was never going to be easy, whoever we played against. We are looking forward to the game."
