Khune & Monare Share Unique Soweto Derby Preparations

Kaizer Chiefs skipper Itumeleng Khune and Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabang Monare have both made some unusual changes ahead of the highly anticipated Soweto Derby.

Check it out!

What's the story?

Monare and Khune are getting prepped for tomorrow's DStv Premiership in a rather unusual manner.

The Pirates and Chiefs experienced campaigners took to IG to share a new tattoo and a new hairstyle respectively.

Let's take a closer look...

Thabang Monare

The tatted up 33-year-old appears to a have added another piece to his collection.

Monare re-shared a story from a tattoo artist who tagged in a short clip of a recently completed tattoo.

The tattoo seems to be on the back of his leg, next to an abstract pattern tat that's on the side. The piece is from a fictional character, Stewart "Stewie" Griffin, who's from the popular Adult cartoon series, Family Guy.

Check it out:

Stewie is one of the funniest and most sarcastic characters on Family Guy. He's eccentric, flamboyant and is portrayed to be mentally older and smarter than your average 1-year-old infant.

A quirky character, who Monare clearly adores. The midfielder will hope that the tat heals well in the Jo'burg heat ahead of tomorrow's clash against Amakhosi.

Itumeleng Khune

Amakhosi's club captain, Khune, may be benched in favour of Brandon Peterson tomorrow, who's earned the starting birth at the Glamour Boys of late, but he'll certainly stand out for a different reason.

Khune took to IG to share his newly dyed hair! and following in Paul Pogba's footsteps (dyed his hair blue before a Manchester Derby), the 35-year-old has dyed his hair BLUE.

The veteran keeper is switching up from Blonde, a hairdo he first debuted last year, to stun in a light blue colour.
