Man Utd 'Make Decision' On Greenwood Return

Man Utd 'Make Decision' On Greenwood Return

Manchester United have reportedly come to a decision regarding Mason Greenwood's return to the playing squad for the rest of the 2022/23 campaign.

Messi Makes Shock Contract U-Turn?

Despite recently having the charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive behaviour laid against him dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service earlier this month, it seems Greenwood will not don a United jersey at any point this season.

According to the Daily Star, the record Premier League winners are still conducting their own internal investigation, and it is believed it will be some time before the club concludes their verdict on the player.

The England international has been suspended by the Red Devils ever since his arrest in January 2022, but having been cleared by the authorities to resume his professional career, United are still looking into the events and accusations that led to the Manchester native being apprehended and subjected to a lengthy legal process.

The same report suggests that the club is keen to conclude the investigation before the end of this campaign but are not sure that will be possible, and given that Greenwood's contract runs out at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, the situation leaves the 21-year-old in a precarious position.

It will likely be up to manager Erik ten Hag as to what happens to the United academy graduate once the club's investigation comes to an end.

Club To Offer Messi 'Contract Worth €400m'

The Red Devils could release the forward from his contract, sell him in the next transfer window or reintegrate the attacker back into their squad, but with reports claiming that the Dutchman is happy to hear that Greenwood's charges have been dropped, he could yet once again don the famous red of United.
