New Frontrunners Emerge In Race To Purchase Man Utd

New Frontrunners Emerge In Race To Purchase Man Utd

With Manchester United having been recently put up for sale, reports suggest that a full-scale takeover of the club may be imminent as a Qatari private investment company plans a mega-money bid for the English giants.

Ten Hag Puts Three Man Utd Players 'Up For Sale'

According to the Daily Mail, Qatari investors are preparing a lucrative bid to takeover the record Premier League champions.

The club's current ownership group, the Glazer family, put the club up for sale late last year and it is expected that a group of private, high-wealth individuals based in the gulf nation are planning an incredible swoop ahead of the mid-February deadline set by the American family.

United's owners want around £6 billion (R126 billion) for the club, and, given the deteriorating state of Old Trafford, it is likely that the club's prospective owners are either going to need a couple of more billions to either refurbish the Theatre of Dreams or build an entirely new ground for the Mancunians but these costs are not expected to deter the Qatari's from making a move for the team.

A potential issue would be with the Qatari Sports Investment (QSI) group. QSI own French giants Paris Saint-Germain and it is against the rules that one entity owns two clubs in a specific competition, with Les Parisiens likely to clash with United in Europe.

However, the same report suggests that the bid for United emanates from separate and individual investors.

While the idea of a partial takeover was mooted, the Qatari consortium want a full-scale takeover of United as they look to give Erik ten Hag a big money in an effort to try and compete for the world's best signings during the transfer market.
