Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabang Monare says he doesn't feel under pressure to perform, despite his contract with the club coming to an end.

Monare was retained by Pirates for a further season in October last year, despite initially being released by the club after the two parties failed to agree on terms regarding an extension for the steely midfielder.
At the time, Monare signed a one-year extension with the Buccaneers, which is set to expire in June 2023.
Now, with the 33-year-old having entered the last six months of his deal with the club, he has commented on whether or not he feels the pressure to perform, amid his expiring deal.
"Honestly for me, it's an everyday thing. I don't really have to wait for my contract to come to an end to prove what I'm capable of doing, that would be like cheating the game. So, it's just a weekly thing where you always push and become a better player than you were the previous day," he told journalists at the Pirates media day.

"So, that shouldn't be a part of you being motivated, you should be motivated as an individual and as a footballer you should be seeking improvement on a daily basis," he continued.
Monare has made seven appearances for Pirates this season, five of which have come as a starter, while he has made two substitute appearances.
