Report: Tunisia Reject Head Coach's Resignation, Force Him To Stay On

Reports suggest that a giant of African football has rejected their manager's resignation and forced him to stay on board as head coach.

Morocco Warns Of Boycotting African Showpiece Amid Political Tensions

As per Ettachkil, the Tunisian Football Federation (TFF) has taken the decision to turn down Jalel Kadri's resignation as head coach of the Carthage Eagles.

The 51-year-old recently led the north African giants during their exploits at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but was unable to guide his men out of the group stage for the first time in their history as they finished third in Group D.

The Tunisian tactician declared that he would leave his post as head coach if he failed to make it to the competition's knockout stages, but the TFF has decided to oppose Kadri's decision and insisted that he stay on board until at least the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.

The same report suggests that Kadri still retains the confidence of federation president Wadi El Jarii, who wants him to be head coach until the continental showpiece in January 2024.

Al Ahly: Our Forwards Are Unconvincing, We're Missing Tau

The Tozeur native formed part of the contingent of African coaches who were able to provide the continent's best showing ever at a World Cup, with each of CAF's five representatives able to secure at least one victory in Qatar.
