Foden: Bellingham Is One Of The Best Midfielders I Have Ever Seen

Manchester City and England star Phil Foden has lauded teenage sensation Jude Bellingham as one of the best midfielders he has ever seen.

Morocco Coach Issues Challenge To Fellow African Nations

While it was Harry Kane who grabbed the Man of the Match award after England's 3-0 win over Senegal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, young star Bellingham also put on a stellar performance to help the Three Lions secure their passage to the quarter-finals.

The 19-year-old was the architect of England's first goal as he drove into the box before cutting the ball back to Jordan Henderson, who slotted it into the back of the net to open the match's scoring, with that assist being the first by any teenager in the knockout stage of a World Cup, according to the Daily Mail.

The Borussia Dortmund vice-captain was also at the heart of the team's second goal, when he made a mazy run before he played Foden into space, with the City winger laying it off for Kane who opened his account at the tournament.

Foden, who ended the match with two assists, was left in awe of Bellingham's performance and heaped praise on to the youngster after the game.

"I don't want to big him up too much because he's still young, but he's one of the most gifted players I've ever seen," Foden told ITV Sport of his compatriot.

"I don't see a weakness in his game. I think he has everything and I'm sure he's going to be the best midfielder world for sure."

Impressive England Eliminate African Champions Senegal

Having played alongside the likes of Yaya Toure, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan, this is tremendous praise from a player who has constantly been surrounded by world-class midfield talent.

Foden could well be adding Bellingham to the list of talented midfielders he has shared a dressing room with at the Etihad Stadium, with City boss Pep Guardiola reportedly interested in securing the Englishman's services from BVB. However, as he continues to shine at the World Cup, the number of serious suitors for the playmaker will likely rise.
