Frontrunners For Ronaldo's Signature Emerge?

Frontrunners For Ronaldo's Signature Emerge?

With Cristiano Ronaldo no longer a Manchester United player, reports suggest that two teams have surfaced as favourites to sign the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

PSG Chairman Reveals Plans To Partially Sell Club

On Tuesday evening, news broke that Ronaldo and United had agreed to part ways, little more than a year after the Portuguese superstar made a spectacular return to Old Trafford.

While it seemed like the start of a fruitful relationship after he signed from Juventus, the renewed marriage between United and the 37-year-old proved nothing but, culminating in him slighting the club on several occasions during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan last week.

After the interview aired, multiple reports surfaced suggesting that coaching and playing staff alike were keen to see the Portugal captain leave the club as soon as possible.

With the Red Devils having now severed ties with the club legend, international football's highest-ever goalscorer is now looking for a new adventure.

According to Marca, Ronaldo might not have to move that far from Manchester for his next possible destination.

The Spanish outlet reports that the five-time UEFA Champions League winner could be on his way to Newcastle United.

The Geordie side were taken over by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund last year, and have seen a number of big names walk through the doors of St. James Park since.

Ronaldo could be their first true superstar signing, but the same report suggests that the Madeira native could also join Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, who are owned by the same people who own Newcastle.
