Although Nico Williams has been selected as part of Spain's provisional squad to go to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is adamant they can still persuade the attacker to play for the Black Stars.

Earlier this year, the 20-year-old was called up to the Spanish national team for the first time ahead of matches against Switzerland and Portugal in the UEFA Nations League.
While Williams did have the option of representing the nation of his parents, which is Ghana, the Athletic Bilbao starlet opted instead to honour Luis Enrique's call-up.
Now, having been included in the 55-man provisional squad list for La Furia Roja's adventure in Qatar later this year, there is a real possibility the winger could represent the 2010 FIFA World Cup winners in 2022.
However, the GFA remain hopeful that Williams could eventually become a member of the four-time Africa Cup of Nations, with the association's president, Kurt Okraku, confident they will be able to prove to the winger that playing for the west Africans is the right thing to do.
"He's been summoned to Spain and I wish him the best, but he will return home (to Ghana)," Okraku told Marca.
"I know he is coming home. [Nico's brother] Inaki also played for Spain.
"We'll continue talking, he's one of us."
Nico's older sibling Inaki is a former Spain international but now plays for the 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter-finalists, and the GFA is optimistic Nico will follow suit.

The young forward has been in fine form for the Basque side this season, having scored three goals and provided four assists in 12 LaLiga appearances for Ernesto Valverde's team. Williams will hope his good form continues as he looks to be on the Spain flight to the Gulf in a few weeks' time.
