With Kylian Mbappe reported to have signed the biggest football contract in history at Paris Saint-Germain with his extension in May, the club has replied to claims of the big-money deal.

After being courted by Real Madrid for much of the 2021/22 season, Mbappe eventually opted against joining Los Blancos and put pen to paper on a new deal in the French capital instead.
The 23-year-old is understood to have signed a two-year extension with an option for a third year at the Parc des Princes, and according to a report from French publication Les Parisien earlier this week, Mbappe could earn as much as €630 million (R11.4 billion) from his contract with PSG should he decide to see it out.
The record Ligue 1 champions have now come out and refuted those claims, however, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club could take legal action against the media outlet.

"In relation to the sensationalist information published by a media outlet about one of our players, PSG wish to make clear that this story is completely false and not a single detail is correct," PSG's statement in Le Parisien read, as per Marca.
"The timing of this information also surprises us, [as it comes] just one day before an important match of our team in the Champions League.
"PSG are not going to make any further comment on the matter. Instead of following these kinds of rumours, the club want to concentrate on this important match."

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has been in the headlines a lot lately, with rumours of discontent at PSG circulating and a feud with Brazilian teammate Neymar said to still be festering.
Despite the recent controversy, it has not deterred the France international from performing this season. The Frenchman has found the back of the net 14 times in 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
