Chelsea Star Fires Shots At Parent Club Juve

Having just moved to Chelsea on loan, one of the Blues' midfielders has now fired shots at parent club Juventus amid the Bianconeri's poor run of form.

Mozambican Star Reveals Secret To Atletico's Defensive Solidity

Switzerland international Denis Zakaria has admitted that his deadline-day move to west London came about mere hours before the transfer window shut.

Despite the short notice regarding his switch from Italy to England, the 25-year-old is delighted to have made the move, citing Juve's playing style as a reason as to why he feels he was unable to thrive at the Allianz Stadium.

"Juventus didn't play that well. Maybe the style of football wasn't suited to me," the deep-lying midfielder told Swiss publication Blick.

"It all happened very quickly. I didn't know a move to Chelsea was possible until six hours before the end of the transfer window.

"It's difficult to say what went wrong [at Juve], maybe the style of football wasn't suited to me. The team sat very deep, so I didn't have much space.

"I'm a player who needs a lot of space for my runs. It might suit me better in England.

"[Juve manager Massimiliano] Allegri is a good person, I can say that, for sure.

"Maybe the team didn't play that well, which is a shame as, with the talent in that squad, they can do much better."

The 36-time Italian champions have suffered from some erratic form this season, with Allegri's men bottom of their UEFA Champions League group and floundering in eighth position in the Serie A standings.

How Ramos Reacted To Spain Snub

Having donned the famous black and white strip of Juve on just 15 occasions since making the move to Turin from Borussia Monchengladbach in January, a loan move became a possibility in the past window, with Liverpool also making their interest in the player known.

"I heard that from my agent [that Liverpool were interested], but in the end it was Chelsea," Zakaria added.

"I think I'll be happier in England than in Turin."

Various circumstances have prevented the Swiss from making his debut for the two-time European champions this season, but he will be hoping to build momentum when Switzerland take on Spain and Czech Republic in their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.
