It has been six months since Orlando Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa was seen on the football field. His return to the field of play is a much-anticipated one, not only by his team, but also by the Buccaneers' supporters. 'Ace' last played for the club on 22 September last year.
During Manyisa's lengthy lay-off, Pirates have been blowing hot and cold and currently find themselves occupying seventh spot.
With Orlando Pirates confirming the news that their team's captain is on the verge of making a comeback, Bucs fan and Soccer Laduma Supporter's Club member, Andile Makaya, feels that the 27 year-old shouldn't be rushed back.
"Obviously we're happy to hear the news and we would like to see him play again after some time, but then I don't think he's ready to start a match."
Lehlogonolo Masalesa, Mpho Makola, Thandani Ntshumayelo and Yasser Mugerwa have all played in Manyisa's position during his absence, with Makola being the key performer amongst the rest.
"I think for now he should sit on the bench until he's ready enough. He can even play next season, I don't think it's necessary to bring him back now."
