"We messed up!" This is how prominent Sundowns fan Mama Tsontso answered her phone when Supporters Club called her on Friday. The Yellow Nation is still reeling and scratching its head as to what has transpired over the past week. And now they come up against fellow local giant Kaizer Chiefs in a must-win encounter this weekend.
"Yoh, we are stressing," Mama continued.
"We messed up, honestly we messed up so bad against Ajax.
"We were supposed to take all the points, I don't know what happened."
The situation at other teams is also not escaping the Sundowns supporters' attention.
"Wits are flying, they are not losing… They are not even intending to lose!" Mama added.
"On top of that, Komphela wants points. In fact, he needs points to please his fans. This is going to be tough."
It has been an unbelievably turbulent week for the mighty Brazilians who, not so long ago, looked as if they might grab a minimum of three trophies… Now only one remains.
"We lost two trophies in the space of a week, and if I'm honest, if we don't play our cards right, we could lose the Absa Premiership too," Mama said.
"The remaining games are all must-wins."
Mama told Supporters Club that the supporters do not wish to put more pressure on coach Pitso Mosimane. The time will come, but they need action to be taken for this weekend's fixture.
"The boys are tired, you can see that. Pitso must do something! I don't know what, but he needs to do something. Maybe he needs to introduce Cheeseboy, Laffor, and Surprise Moriri. Chiefs know our starting line-up, we need a change. We need a miracle this weekend, we are really worried. But we have faith in Jingles," she concluded.
It could be do or die for the Brazilians this weekend. Will they continue the fine form they began this season with? Or will they be shoving the cork back into the champagne bottle?
What is your prediction for this weekend's game? Can Sundowns lose it all at the death?
