Orlando Pirates fans are elated with the news that an old sheriff is back in town. Captain Oupa Manyisa was the embodiment of the skull and crossbones and the spine of the Buccaneers for so long. His injury was as untimely as it was unfortunate. However, the Sea Robbers have had to adapt to life after Manyisa, and now they must ask the question… Does he fit in anymore?
Many Supporters are over the moon and cannot wait for his return. However, there are those that feel the team has moved on since then, and his introduction will come at the cost of another player who has been sacrificing his blood, sweat, and tears for the Buccaneers.
“I don’t see his return as an emergency. Makola is enjoying his best football ever and relegating him to the bench for a match unfit captain will derail his confidence, affect the team as a whole and could spark danger for Tinkler. – Mase27 soccerpot
Pirates is a team of incredible depth, with a fragile morale due to various highs and lows experienced this season. The team seems to have stabilized of late, however, this could change if something were to upset the balance. Even something positive, like the reintroduction of Manyisa, could result in something negative.
Where do you think the place for Manyisa in Orlando Pirates is?
