Mamelodi Sundowns will face AS Vita on Saturday in the last knockout round of the CAF Champions League before the group stages of the competition. AS Vita managed to beat Kaizer Chiefs in the same competition over two years ago, and will be looking to beat yet another South African giant this weekend in the first leg tie.
Sundowns' faithful supporter, known as Bishop, believes that his team has what it takes to progress, however, they should not take them lightly.
"We are determined to go there and score a few goals, at least two or three so that when they come to us, we would be able to defend our lead so that we can proceed to the next round."
"I hear (Orlando) Pirates fans telling me about how bumpy the pitch is, but then our players also played is such pitches before turning professionals."
Sundowns' best run in the competition came in 2001 when they went to the final and lost to Al Ahly, and they have already stated their ambitions of winning the competition. They currently find themselves competing in three different contests, and when asked which one is the most important, Bishop had this to say:
"It's one match at a time for us. We're only focusing on the next fixture and after that, we shift focus to the upcoming encounter. After playing this weekend, we'll focus on the next game against Polokwane City and so on."
