The public sentiment is growing day by day, becoming more resounding by the minute. The Khosi Faithful are questioning Bobby Motaung's competence in managing the proud Kaizer Chiefs brand. This season's results and particularly the poor effort on the part of management to sign quality players have left many supporters feeling disrespected.
This has been reflected in the comments Kaizer Chiefs fans have made on the Soccer Laduma website.
"If only our opinions mattered, things wouldn't be where they are right now... " – SeaGate4
"Same as Zuma, this Bobby." – arthur10tenyane
"So Bobsteak has proven that he has built his Nkandlaville and is untouchable." – Diski_nine_nine
Other supporters have warned that it is foolish to ever believe that Chiefs belonged to the people, as it always has been, and always will be, a business. This could be true – if you walk into Naturena, you will see much more talk of Chiefs being a "brand" than it is a "team".
It is much more than a brand; Kaizer Chiefs are the most loved club in the country. The supporters want to feel like shareholders, and that their concerns are also valid. They want to have a say in players to sign, and be part of the future direction of the club. This is most supporters' wish, but is it reality? Perhaps not, as pointed out by SL reader Khenyeza Makatana
"This is not Voting Chiefs Football Club… Kaizer Motaung is in charge and will run the team the way he likes… Bobby is not going anywhere."
Do you think Chiefs supporters are involved enough in the decision-making processes at their club? What is the possibility of Chiefs becoming a fan-owned club one day, like Barcelona or Real Madrid?
