The 26-year-old replaces Andre Schurrle who joined Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

Cuadrado convinced for Colombia during the World Cup where his four assists helped his country to qualify for the quarter-final for the first time in it's history.

The speedy right foot can play right wing or wing-back and has scored six goals for Fiorentina this season.

"I am very happy and thankful for this opportunity I've been given.  This is a great club and honestly it is like a dream to join the Chelsea family and to know that the manager believes in me. I'm happy." Cuadrado told the club's official website.

Chelsea's Mohamed Salah joined Fiorentina on loan until the end of the season as part of the deal.
