Mourinho Makes Shock Messi Ballon d'Or Claim
The 1986 FIFA World Cup winner was returning to his homeland this week when he was stopped and arrested after his ex-girlfriend was believed to have sued him for $A9million (R2 million).
According to Fox Sports, which cites reports in Argentina, Maradona was spoken to about a court action filed by his former partner Rocio Oliva.
It is understood the pair enjoyed a six-year relationship before they parted ways in December last year, with Oliva reportedly having since filed a claim for "action of economic compensation" against the Argentine hero.
The confrontation took place in Buenos Aires upon his return from Mexico, where he is the manager of club side Dorados de Sinaloa.
Maradona has made headlines for the wrong reasons often in the past year, with his behaviour at the 2018 FIFA World Cup also drawing unwanted attention.
Images and videos of the former FC Barcelona and Napoli striker at a few of the Albiceleste's matches at the tournament did the rounds on social media due to his outrageous expressions and actions.
