SuperSport United have wished one of their players well after confirming that he had been transferred to a new club outside of South African shores.

It was confirmed earlier today that 19-year-old Luke le Roux had completed a move to Varbergs BolS after penning a long-term contract with the Swedish outfit, joining fellow South Africans, Keanin Ayer and Tashreeq Matthews, at the top-flight club.

Matsatsantsa have wished their youth product well as he goes on to the next step in his development, praising him for his hard work over the years.

They sent out a tweet this afternoon saying, "SuperSport United would like to confirm the departure of midfielder Luke Le Roux to Swedish Allsvenskan club, Varbergs BolS on a 4-year deal."

The club's CEO, Stanley Matthews, went on to add, "We are exceptionally proud of Luke being able to pursue his dream of European football in Sweden... He has worked very hard within our structures for the past six years.

"He has been up and down between Cape Town, Johannesburg and the Netherlands and I'm delighted for him that his dedication and talent has earned him a good move at an early age to the right kind of club environment. We wish Luke every success in his future in Europe and for Bafana Bafana."

Meanwhile, in a quote provided by the player's UK-based agency, Forwardzone Football Limited, the teenager said, "I am thrilled to be joining Varbergs BoIS… I have really enjoyed my time at the club thus far and everyone has made me feel at home, I am grateful for the opportunity SuperSport gave me and am now looking forward to the next chapter of playing in the Allsvenskan."
