Sundowns were involved in CAF Champions League duties over the weekend, as they thrashed Le Passe FC 8-1 to secure their spot in the group stages.

In the league, Sundowns have slipped to second spot after SuperSport United's win over Stellenbosch on Tuesday but a win this evening will see the champions return to the summit.

The Brazilians come into this evening's encounter unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions, which includes seven wins.

Gallants, meanwhile, overcame Elgeco Plus to progress to the Confederation Cup play-off round, where they will face Ah Ahly Tripoli.

The Limpopo side got their first league win before the international break after defeating TS Galaxy, which they followed up with back-to-back wins in the Confederation Cup.

These two sides played to a 1-1 draw in the fixture last season, although Sundowns claim a 2-1 win in the Nedbank Cup final back in May.
