The Premier Soccer league (PSL) is unlikely to add another tournament to replace the Telkom Knockout, according to acting CEO Mato Madlala.
There was one less competition this past season after the league severed ties with Telkom, who became a tournament sponsor back in 2006.
However, it seems the situation will remain the same next season the league, with Mato Madlala claiming that teams competing in CAF continental tournament might have congested fixture list.
"There's complaints that teams are competing in the continent and don't get enough time to prepare, because of tight schedule" - Madlala told the media.
"With the Covid-19 pandemic, it's really tight and hard to think about that, whenever teams are playing, they must always test wherever they going before they play and sometimes airlines are not working or delaying.
"Teams have to travel all over the continent, so that affect fixtures it becomes impossible to have another tournament, even though we need money and there are possibilities, it impossible to do things while giving teams opportunities to compete in Africa."
