Over the last month of the Betway Premiership, several players raised their hands to be counted among the best, with the League expected to announce top performers who will be crowned Player of the Month and Coach of the Month for March/April.
Magesi FC have been one of the teams enjoying a good run of results since appointing head coach, Owen Da Gama, who took over from coach Clinton Larsen. Languishing in the relegation zone, Dikwena tsa meetse had to change things around almost half way through the season, in an attempt to save their status from possible relegation. Coach ODG proved to be the exact catalyst that they needed, as he went on to win four games and drew one in the month of March. That is a remarkable achievement for a team that only had three wins to show for their performances by the end of February.
TS Galaxy will also count March as a relatively successful month for chairman, Tim Sukazi's side, as they won three, drawn one and lost one from their five matches played. Coach Adnan Beganovic has established himself as one of the contenders for the Coach of the Season award after taking charge of The Rockets following coach Saed Ramovic's surprise departure from the club.
Marumo Gallants registered three wins, one against Orlando Pirates, he drew one and lost one match in the same period in March. New coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou will be hoping to get to the 30-point mark soon, as he tried to move the Bloemfontein-based side away from the relegation zone. 25 points from 23 games so far with seven wins, four draws and 12 losses doesn't read well for a side that is looking to appease the football-crazy Free State supporters and they will be looking to collect more points going forward.
Chippa United, under coach Thabo September, have played four matches this month with two wins, a loss and a draw. The Gqeberha-based side looked settled in the Top Eight bracket until recently, as they find themselves sitting ninth on the log standings. They have amassed 28 points from 21 games so far.
Players like Thabang Sibanyoni, Relebohile Mofokeng, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Thato Khiba, Kamogelo Sebelebele and Elvis Chipezeze are just some of the players who have raised their hand for recognition with their performances for their respective clubs.
