10 Ex-PSL Stars Erasmus Will Find In NFD

After Casric Stars announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus, Soccer Laduma highlights top ten former PSL stars currently in the NFD.

George Maluleka (Kruger United)

Maluleka, who has starred for Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United was announced by Kruger at the beginning of the season at the age of 35 after his contract was not renewed at AmaZulu. 

Lucky Baloyi (Black Leopards)

Baloyi dropped a division for the first time at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign to join Leopards after his contract was not renewed at Polokwane City. 

The 33-year-old came through the ranks at Chiefs and went on to play for the likes of Bloemfontein Celtic and Maritzburg United. 

Thamsanqa Gabuza  (University of Pretoria)

Gabuza, famous for his time at Orlando Pirates, was without a club from February last year after he was released by TS Galaxy, before AmaTuks recruited him at the beginning of the year.

Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya (Pretoria Callies)

Ntiya-Ntiya was among new signings by Callies ahead of the 2024/25 season after his deal was not renewed by Sekhukhune United. 

The 28-year-old left back spent four years at Amakhosi senior before he joined Babina Noko.

Bradley Ralani (Hungry Lions)

Lions acquired the services of Ralani at the start of the season after the 37-year-old was released by Cape Town Spurs in April 2024.

Ralani, who spent the majority of his career overseas, had a two-and-half year stay at Sundowns from Cape Town City before he joined Spurs.

Collins Makgaka (Baroka )

Makgaka was without a club for five months after he was released by Orlando Pirates in July 2023, before he was signed by Sekhukhune United.

However, Makgaka spent only half a season at Sekhukhune before he dropped down to his old club at the start of the current campaign. 

Judas Moseamedi (Venda FC)

Moseamedi remained in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for the second consecutive season after he was signed by Venda at the beginning of the campaign after he was released by Durban City (formely Maritzburg United), who were relegated in the 2022/23 term.

Nkanyiso Zungu (Pretoria Callies)

Zungu is also campaigning for his second straight season in the NFD after he initially joined Platinum City Rovers for the last three months of the 2023/24 campaign. 

The 29-year-old first dropped down a division after he was deep surplus to requirements at Pirates.

Lantshene Phalane (Baroka)

Phalane, 35, was forced to wind down his career at his old club Baroka after his contract was not renewed at Moroka Swallows at the end of last season.

Darrel Matsheke (Pretoria Callies)

Matsheke had a career lifeline after Stellenbosch signed him as a free agent following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs to replace Sibongiseni Mthethwa.

However, after reported disciplinary issues, the 26-year-old finds himself at the Romans.
