After parting ways with eight players and having added four new signings, a Gauteng-based DStv Premiership club has also made adjustments to its technical team.
Sekhukhune United parted ways with star winger Thabo Rakhale and veteran midfielder Jabulani Maluleke, as well as Nicholus Lukhubeni, Blessing Sarupinda, Ryan De Jongh, Thabang Sibanyoni and Sibusiso Hlubi in the January transfer window after signing Justin Shonga, Evans Rusike, Luckyboy Mokoena and Roderick Kabwe.
Sekhukhune have elevated Themba Sithole to the role of technical director as part of the club's major changes.
Sithole joined Sekhukhune in May last year after parting ways with Free State Stars where he had been one of the longest-serving members of their technical team with service of over a decade.
In joining Babina Noko last year, Sithole was roped into the role of head of development and scouting.
With the team aiming to do well in the remaining 13 matches in the DStv Premiership for a chance to finish their maiden season in topflight in the top eight and to go as far as possible in the Nedbank Cup, Sithole has been appointed in the role of technical director to work closely with head coach MacDonald Makhubedu and his technical team.
