Maritzburg United defender Themba Shabalala could be set to make his official debut for the club in the upcoming games.
The experienced player, who joined the KZN outfit from Free State Stars before the start of the season, has been working hard in training to impress Ernst Middendorp and his technical team for a chance to play.
The Tembisa-born player was impressive with his performance in a recent friendly for Maritzburg against Royal Eagles.
Against Highlands Park in the last game for Maritzburg before the international FIFA break, Shabalala was on the bench for Middendorp's team.
"He has been working hard in training and has made notable progress. He could be available for the next game," a source told the Siya crew.
The Team of Choice is scheduled to visit Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City in their next game on November 19.
