As we approach the halfway mark of the inaugural DStv Premiership season, we take a look at the league's most prolific attacking duos, with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs stars shockingly lagging behind the surprise leaders.

Teams are slowly staking their claim and mounting their charge for the ultimate prize, which is league glory. These efforts are being spearheaded by the teams' attacking players, who have led from the front from a goal-scoring perspective.
In this respect, it comes as no surprise then that SuperSport United find themselves in the second position on the log standings. Their strike partnership of Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza is head and shoulders above their peers.

Transftermarkt has provided an overview of the most successful attacking duos of the league, which shows that the Matsatsantsa duo is responsible for 19 goals this season. The evergreen Grobler has found the Midas touch and has netted 12 times this season, while a resurgent Gabuza has chipped in with five league strikes, while the duo both have an assist each.
They are closely followed by Mamelodi Sundowns duo Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile who have partnered for an impressive 17 goals this campaign; Zwane with eight goals and one assist, while the Namibian has six goals and two assists to his name.

Shockingly, both Chiefs and Pirates are struggling in terms of prolific duos and to date, their most successful duos have contributed to just seven goals apiece. For Chiefs, it is Nkosingiphile Ngcobo ( three goals) and Lebogang Manyama ( two goals, two assists), while for Pirates it is the duo of Fortune Makaringe (two goals, one assist) and Deon Hotto ( two goals, two assists).
