Result: Moroka Swallows 4-1 Golden Arrows

Moroka Swallows ran riot in their Absa Premiership match at Dobsonville stadium as they thumped Golden Arrows 4-0 thanks to a double brace from Bennett Chenene and Katlego Mashego on Wednesday night.

The result saw the Dube Birds jump into the top eight in seventh place with 38 points from their 28 league matches.

For Arrows, they KZN side sit in 13th place only four points outside of the relgation with two league games to go.

Swallows made their intentions clear from the first whistle and it only took them 12 minutes to find the lead when Chenene headed home a right wing cross from Siyabonga Nomvethe, 1-0.

The Dube Birds continued to dominate the half but could not find the second goal until four minutes from the half time break.

Chenene scored his second of the match after showing some good strength to hold off Arrows' defender Thanduyise Khuboni before slotting the ball past a helpless keeper, 2-0.

The second half saw Arrows with some decent possession but they failed to make use of their opportunities with some poor decision making in the final third of the field.

Swallows punished them for their lacklustre showing in front of goal when they found their third in the 67th minute after Mashego broke from his own half before beating the keeper in a one-on-one situation, 3-0.

Arrows did manage to find the back of the net a minute before the 90 as Musa Bilankulu found their consolation goal.

Swallows, though, had the final word as Mashego concluded his brace in the third minute of added time in a swift counter-attacking move, 4-1.
