Baxter told the Siya crew recently that, following his exit from Genclerbirligi, he planned to return to Mzansi for a while in order to finalise some personal matters and see friends in the country.
Despite his comments, when the two-time Absa Premiership winner arrived in South Africa there were rumours that he was here to take over at one of the PSL clubs, something that he was quick to dispel.
There was talk of several sides being a possible destination for the Englishman, with SuperSport United being the side most heavily linked with a move for Baxter following a bad run of form under Gordon Igesund.
However, Baxter spoke out about the matter recently, admitting that while he was getting a lay of the land in South Africa as he ponders his next move, he was not in the country to take anybody's job or to put pressure on his fellow colleagues.
Now, with Baxter back in Europe, the rumours of a return to South Africa will at least die down for a while. However, as long as he is a free agent, his name will undoubtedly keep cropping up.
