The latest news reaching the Siya crew is that Mamelodi Sundowns striker Leonardo Castro wants out of Chloorkop.
Castro joined the Brazilians at the start of the 2015/16 season and played a key part in the side's victorious league and cup double campaign. Together with Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly, the trio were affectionally labeled as the CBD and formed, arguably, the most threatening attack in Mzani.
However, it now seems as though 27-year-old wants out of the Chloorkop-based side. Siya sources close to Downs explained that the player wants out of the club due to personal reasons and could be heading back to South America before the new season gets underway.
"He (Castro) wants out. It's being discussed here at the club and they going to meet before the end of the week. It's sad that he could leave but that's the situation right now," the source concluded.
The player signed a one year deal with Downs at the start of the season, which included additional two year options. While Downs were expected to keep the player at the team, it now seems as though he could be leaving sooner rather than later.
Should the colombian exit, it could be a blow to Coach Pitso Mosimane as he prepares to challenge for the CAF Champions League and domestic honours.
