Once the darling of the multitudes of Orlando Pirates and South African football fans at large, Steve Lekoelea is in trouble with the law.

Following news in the local media this morning (Wednesday) that Lekoelea is being held in police custody, the Siya crew got confirmation from Orange Farm police station about the former football star's arrest.
SAPS spokesperson Captain Johannes Motsiri confirmed that Lekoelea is currently in custody at Orange Farm police station.
"He is still in custody and will be appearing in court tomorrow (Thursday), the court in Vereeniging," confirmed the captain.
Asked on what charge the Bucs legend is being held on, he said, "On fraud and possession of a suspected stolen vehicle."
Lekoelea started his professional football career under the name Steve Motsiri at Moroka Swallows.

He went on to become a household name in local football with Pirates, SA U23s and Bafana Bafana during his illustrious career.
