Following their relegation from the PSL, Usuthu are expected to lose some of the experienced players from the squad of the 2014/15 season.
Bafana Bafana defender, Marc van Heerden, as well as Sadate Ouro Akoriko and John Arwuah, are some of the players that have attracted interest from other clubs in the elite league.
"Look, the players have contracts with the club and so they will not just leave. We are still looking at negotiating with some of them but things are looking good," Barker told the club's official website.
Barker and his technical team have started with the preparations to try and bring the club back to the PSL.
"We have started our preparations although it not physical training, but we have been trying to ensure that all the paperwork is in place and we get all the right players we need to get us back to the PSL with a straight promotion," Barker added.

"We did not have many under-23 players and so this will give the Durban Warriors players a chance to prove themselves. We are looking at signing one or two players from there and also look at other experienced players we can get," Barker told amazulufc.net.
