Moroka Swallows will look to end the winning streak of Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs when the teams meet at Dobsonville Stadium for a Soweto derby on Friday
Swallows ended 2013 with a 2-2 draw away to Free State Stars, a match in which they twice conceded the lead.
The Soweto side has won four of their six home matches this season and claimed 13 of a possible 18 points.
The Birds are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 22 points from 14 matches.
Chiefs racked up a seventh successive league win last week when they beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 away from home.
The Soweto giants have claimed 16 points from their eight away matches so far this season.
The Amakhosi are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 33 points from 15 matches.
In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Chiefs have met in 58 league matches since 1985.
The Amakhosi have traditionally dominated the rivalry, claiming 32 wins and suffering just 11 defeats.
Swallows have won just six of their 28 home league games against Chiefs down the years, suffering 15 defeats in the process.
Earlier this season the teams played to a 1-1 draw, with Parker and Chabangu scoring for Amakhosi and the Birds respectively.
