Spain have been a long time kryptonite of South Africa when it comes to international football, however, head coach, Gordon Igesund, and his men look to change that in this evening's almighty clash at the FNB Stadium.
We look at some of the goals that have seen Bafana Bafana fight back at Spain, but more so the goals from the Spaniards which sunk us over the years.
The first video shows just how Spain broke our hearts at the 2002 Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup, with Raul netting twice for the current World Champions and a superb free kick by Gaizka Mendieta which sealed the 3-2 win for Spain. Benni McCarthy and Lucas Radebe fought back with a goal apiece, however, it proved unsuccessful as Spain saw out the result.

During the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa lost 2-0 to Spain during the group stages of the tournament by the feet of David Villa and Fernando Llorente, respectively.

The last meeting between Spain and South Africa resulted in another 3-2 win for Spain in the 3rd 4th place play-off at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. Daniel Guiza scored twice for Spain to compete with Katlego Mphela's brace which sent the tie into extra-time. A Xabi Alonso free kick in the 107th minute broke our hearts once again to make the final score 3-2.
