A former Orlando Pirates star is among six players from AmaZulu who have been called up by their respective national teams.
The Durban-based club which has signed a number of stars this season under new management led by new boss Sandile Zungu have the likes of ex-Buccaneer Augustine Mulenga, Limbikani Mzava, Butholezwe Ncube, Lindokuhle Zungu, Olwethu Mzimela and Yamkelo Phalane all called up by their respective national teams.
"AmaZulu Reserve Team striker, Lindokuhle Zungu and Captain, Olwethu Mzimela have a joined long list of Usuthu players that will don national team colours after being called up into the Under 20 Men's National Team squad. The pair will play in the COSAFA Under 20 Championship matches on Thursday, 03rd December 2020, until the 13th December 2020 in Port Elizabeth," AmaZulu confirmed on the club's official website.
"AmaZulu 16-year-old attacker, Yamkelo Phalane was recently roped into a week-long South African U17 Training camp which sees the youngster among a group of players in the running for a place in Coach Veli Khumalo's COSAFA squad that will do national duty from 03 – 13 December in Port Elizabeth," confirmed the club.
"Augustine Mulenga has been called up by the Zambian National Team as they prepare for their Group H Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Botswana from 12 16 November. They will however play a friendly prior to the official bouts on 05 November," the KwaZulu-Natal giants confirmed.
"Butholezwe Ncube's Zimbabwe have made a call to Usuthu for the services of Shaker as they aim for an upset against Algeria over a two-legged fixture on 12 16 November for AFCON Qualifiers," Usuthu said.
"Limbikani Mzava and Malawi will play Burkina Faso in their AFCON Qualifying match on 09 18 November," concluded AmaZulu.
