Siphiwe Tshabalala's Five Goals Against Ajax

Kaizer Chiefs' Siphiwe Tshabalala is expected to make his long-awaited return to competitive action this weekend against Ajax Cape Town; a club that he boasts an excellent record against.

Since arriving at Kaizer Chiefs back in January 2007, Tshabalala has played 20 matches against the Urban warriors, including 16 in the Absa Premiership and four in the MTN8. In those games, the 32-year-old has scored five goals and assisted a further six, meaning that he's played a role in more than a goal every second game. Eight of those matches ended in victory, while seven saw the teams share the spoils and Ajax won five.

Perhaps what will play the biggest role in whether Steve Komphela decides to play the dreadlocked midfielder is a look at Tshabalala's minutes on the pitch in matches against the Urban Warriors. Of all the games that have been contested between the teams since the former Free State Stars man arrived at the club, Tshabalala has missed only four, and, of the 20 games he played, he spent the full 90 minutes on the pitch in all but four of them.

But, what will ultimately count the most is that Tshabalala has scored more goals against Ajax than any of his teammates since he joined the club.

The only drawback, however, is that the last time Tshabalala scored against Ajax was in December 2012.
