Both youngsters played for Santos' ABC Motsepe side, and also recently impressed at the 2014 Metropolitan Cup, and have now been promoted by Santos coach Farouk Abrahams.
"It feels great to have signed. It hasn't really hit me yet but it feels great at training, the way training is more serious and how the players also see you," Kowalski told thepeoplesteam.co.za.
"Fortunately for me I've been with the coach before so we sort of have a good relationship already, which I feel is a must-have between coach and player.
"And on a one-on-one level he really is motivational. He knows how to bring the best out of a player, always encouraging you at training, and giving you freedom.
"He allows you to make mistakes and to rectify them yourself so you don't make the same mistakes again in the future.
"The atmosphere in training has been incredible with a very young, lively squad. I'm up for the challenge. I want to keep improving and learning from the more experienced players."
"I'm very happy to sign with the first team," Rayners told the website.
"It's great for my soccer development as it means I get to pick up more experience working with the older guys.
"For me it was a little bit unexpected but at the same time it is great to know you are rewarded in life for all the hard work you put in!
"Coach Abrahams has said he's been impressed with my performances in training and has encouraged me to keep working hard to make the team, and the players are also very encouraging as well. It has been great so far!"
