Ambitious NFD side Royal Eagles are in discussions for Thulani Khwinana from United FC with a view to sign him for the 2014/15 season.
Eagles have been busy in the market during the pre-season, since the club was officially sold to KwaZulu-Natal couple Sibusiso and Shawn Mpisane and changed its headquarters from Mpumalanga to KZN.
Khwinana's agent Abbie Rasimphi of Liberate Resources Sport Management confirmed to the Siya crew that the 22-year-old midfielder is on the verge of joining the David Bright-coached side.
"Thulani Khwinana comes from United FC. He is at Royal Eagles FC at the moment. The two teams are in negotiations over the player's transfer fee.
"This is the Neymar kind of a player that we are talking about here. He is a talented player. He made his mind up that he wants to leave United FC.
"The team granted him his wish as they are now negotiating a transfer fee with Royal Eagles. The player is still contracted to United FC. He wrote a letter to the club telling them that he is no longer interested to be part of the team. The two teams are busy negotiating," said Rasimphi.
