RIP Thabani Gumede
Thanda Royal Zulu's long-serving general manager, Thabani Gumede, has passed away after a long illness. Back in 2007/08 when the club were in the PSL, the popular man was their spokesperson but in recent years he'd suffered from a debilitating condition which was only recently diagnosed as a lactose intolerance. KZN journalist, Dave Savides a personal friend of club chairman, Pierre Delvaux, confirmed the news to Soccer Laduma. "Pierre called me this morning," he said. "About a week ago they found out what was wrong with him which hadn't been picked up for ages. Thabani was actually excited as he hoped they'd be able to sort him out." Soccer Laduma would like to send its condolences to the Gumede family.
