Sundowns missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Absa Premiership standings after being held to a stalemate by Celtic.
The Brazilians dominated for large parts of the game, but it tough to break down a stubborn Celtic defence at Loftus Versfeld.
"We took a little bit of time to get the wing play. We depended more on our usual way of playing especially in the first half. We fixed it in the second half," the CAF Champions League winning coach told SuperSport TV after the match.
"But still we didn't have that strong presence in the box to convert the crosses. They defended well to be honest. They did what they had to do. It's football, it's [a] tactic, why not?" he continued.
"It shows that the coaches are good, they corrected their mistakes. I never see Celtic play like this most of the time but they did it today. And it's right why not? Let's see if they will continue defending properly like they did today.
"We missed a few chances, I think Gaston Sirino should have scored. [Anthony] Laffor at the end, it was on the edge. That's why we keep him he always has something like that."
