Orlando Pirates' on-loan left back, Siyabonga Zulu, who is on the books of United FC, this week found himself in the midst of a tug-of-war between his current club and two NFD sides from Cape Town.
But despite a huge interest from both Milano United (where it's alleged that an ex-United assistant coach touted Zulu), and Chippa United, the Amajita defender has now been encouraged to stay at his current club.
United's COO Richard Makhoba, who has a good relationship with Pirates, is unhappy about the way in which one of his former technical team has been acting.
"For him to want to take our players is not right," Makhoba told Soccer-Laduma. "He acts as an advisor, wanting to send the player all over the country but Pirates are not interested in entertaining a third party. Both Chippa and Milano sent emails requesting the player, but Pirates are respecting the contract at hand.
"We don't want to release any players to our competitors. Whoever wants Zulu will have to wait until the end June. I've cleared the air with Pirates, unfortunately this boy went AWOL in December and we never paid him for that month only when he resurfaced this month."
